Mark Erhardt (Band Leader,Bass guitar, Acoustic guitar, Mandolin, Fiddle, Keyboard, Dobro, Banjo)

Mark has been playing in bands professionally for 33 years, and has performed in almost every state, in the country. He began playing with his family band, in North Dakota, and traveled all over the northwestern portion of the United States. During this time he pursued his ambition to play as many instruments as he could. When Mark moved to Nashville, in 1993, he came to support his wife's singing career and do some performing with area bands. It wasn't long after arriving in Nashville that Mark met Bobby Su, and Bobby informed him that they were looking for a bass player, to go out on the road and work with Stephen's dad. Mark jumped at the chance and began working with Bobby and Steve, Mark and Bobby just seemed to click and have been working together, off and on, for the past 12 years. Mark has worked with numerous bands, both in Nashville and on the road, and has had the opportunity to play with some of Nashville's most talented pickers. Mark has also had the opportunity to work with some great artists like, Vern Gosdin, Jean Shepherd, Mark Collie, and Joe Nichols, just to mention a few. Mark's love for country music shows in both his performance and his appearance, he is a firm believer that country music needs to come back around to please the many true country music fans, and that is why he is a strong believer in the music that Stephen is performing. Mark also began working on his writing skills and has co-written one of the songs on Stephen's album "When A Hero Falls". Mark and his good friend Tom Sellwood wrote the song "America's Forgotten" and were very proud of the request by Stephen to record the song, Mark and Tom have also been working on several more songs and Mark hopes to be able to get together with Stephen and write. Mark's contributions to the New Country Outlaws is that of a great love for true country music and the talent to help a great band sound even better. If you enjoy great country music, done by one of today's hottest new country artists, then you need to catch the next performance of Stephen Cochran and the New Country Outlaws.
